Sthquirrel!!! (squirrel)

Every time the doxies see a squirrel we say, "Sthquirrel!!!", like the dogs in the movie, Up. Those scenes cracked me up. I could watch the movie over and over. Here, check it out...

So, you know what I was thinking in the following Sheldon video...

The Penny-Pig

...in her natural habitat.

She has a couple of pig-type nicknames we call her because of the pig sounds she makes and because she'll eat until she explodes. Plus, check out those ears. We love our Penny-Piglet.

She stays on the couch for most of the day; Only taking momentary breaks for food and potty time. The blanket in the photos is the one that Santa Paws brought her and Sheldon for Christmas.

Piglet's Pantry Treats

Sometimes Ma gives us special treats. These are some that her and Dad brought us from Piglet's Pantry Dog Bakery. (link on side bar)

I, Sheldon, like to sniff it, look at it sideways, and then crunch right into it. Penny, on the other hand, starts licking the icing off of them right away. It takes her a super long time to get it all off, which tempts me to help her finish it off. She likes to savor the flavor, as Ma would say. The treats even come in a bag with a paw print on them so no humans will think they're for them.

If your human beans are ever in Mount Dora, FL tell them to go to Piglet's Pantry to pick you up some yummy treats. You'll thank me. - Posted using BlogPress from my iPhone

Can you tell Sheldon wasn't happy? He was in a chair beside the tree, which was, apparently, scary to him. Joel had to stand just out of frame in case he jumped. I didn't even attempt it with Penny.

New Toys

Here are the wiener pups playing with some new stuffed toys I bought them at a yard sale. I got them a whole laundry bag full! They were like kids on Christmas. See for yourself...

I think it's so funny how Penny out-weighs Sheldon by 3+ lbs and he still drags her around during tug-o-war. LOL Don't count out the little guy! It's not the size of the dog in the fight, but the size of the fight in the dog. (Play fight, of course)

The next day my mission was to find yet another toy box for them. I did find a basket that fits the bill. That makes 3 toy boxes.

Bath Time

I had to hold Sheldon to keep him from jumping in the tub during Penny's bath, so I didn't get a video or picture of hers. Here's Sheldon enjoying his bath, though. (Penny hates them)

It's funny how he tries to bite the water at one point. That's what I'm giggling at in the video. Joel is the one doing the hard part....the bathing of the little wiggle worms.

I hope you all are having a nice Friday! We are! Both wiener pups are laying on the bed with me snoozing as I type this up.

The PenPen

The often heard (snoring) but rarely seen above the covers.... PenPen!

Rarely do we see Penny above the covers if she's in our bed. Sheldon is always above the covers after a few minutes because he gets hot and goes hunting for cold spots. Penny ALWAYS looks for cover. When she snoozes on the couch she's under a pillow or someone's legs. She's like her Mommy that way...always cold.

I'm laid up in the bed with a heating pad, a bad back, and a brand new book when this cuteness happens...

"Read to me, Ma!"

While You Were Sleeping

Remember the "Nap Time" post from yesterday? Here's what happened after the photos were taken. Keep in mind Joel was still snoozing during all of this.

Growing Up

Sheldon almost looks grown in this photo to me.

...& this one, too.

Nap Time at Our House

I've posted nap photos before, but here's what it looks like if both doxies and both parents try to nap at the same time.

Sheldon sleeps like a human; Up top and USUALLY with his head on a pillow. That bump under the covers is Penny. She always sleeps under something. If it's on the sofa you'll find her underneath a pillow. Sheldon is hot natured and has to move a lot to find cool spots. Penny is opposite of that. She's always trying to get warm. It's just like Mom and Dad. Mom is always cold and Dad is always hot.

Seconds after I took the photo above this is what the scene turned into...

Sheldon: "Why'd you get up, Mom? There was plenty of room"
Mom: "Exactly where is all this room, Sheldon?"

Notice Joel is still snoozing in both photos? He could sleep through anything. Even two wiener dogs trampling him....which happened.

Nap Time with Dad

This rottenness is happening as I type.

Hehe! Sheldon and I tried to nap, but Mom had too much coffee.

Mommy's Spot

No, he's not spoiled at all! Ha! I almost choked saying that.

That's my side of the bed, but sometimes he keeps it warm for me. Which is like when my Mom used to tell me she was cleaning up my ice cream cone before it melted when I was a kid. I'm on to both of them.

This way! No, THIS way!!

I bought the wiener pups a double leash for when I can't find someone to go walking with us. Now I won't have to wait on someone else to go with me so I can take both of them. I videoed their first outing with it. Check it out...

And a couple of photos taken shortly after the video was shot.

Sheldon: "Com'on Penny....get off your butt and let's run!"
Penny: "No, thank you."

Sheldon: "This way, PenPen! This looks like fun!"
Penny: "No, thank you. You go ahead." *snicker*
Sheldon: "I can't! You're bigger than me!"
Penny: *snicker*

Sheldon: "Fine. You win."
Penny: "Get used to it."

Hehe! Poor Sheldon doesn't have quite as much behind behind him as Penny does. She's pretty much the boss when they're tethered. He still has a blast, though. He just loves being around her.

Speaking of Penny's behind....she got into some bird food while I was feeding and watering the birds today. Little Porky Penny was as round as she is long by the time I caught her! *screams* And she was doing so well on her diet! Hopefully it won't set us back too far.

Napping With Mom

Penny always likes to dive under the covers and sleep at our feet. Sheldon, on the other hand, prefers sleeping with his head on the pillow like any human would. Don't tell him he's not human.

Ice Cream You Scream

Sheldon screams for ice cream.......truck. As in the ENEMY! In Sheldon's humble opinion the ice cream man is an evil, noisy human that he'd like to see disappear. He hears the music and primes himself for a barking and growling session like you've never seen before. He thinks that since most of those rolling hunks of metal that drive down the road seem to be able to do it quietly that the ice cream truck should be able to do it, too. I mean, who does he think he is strolling neighborhoods all slow and creepy like that, making all kinds of noise, and prowling for small children's money?! The nerve!

Here's proof the ice cream truck can't be trusted...

Our Latest Problem

Penny has found a new place to perch recently. I wonder if she does it just to keep Sheldon off the sofa. Poor Sheldon runs into this problem more and more frequently now.

Sheldon's Home

Sheldon's home from having his surgery and resting with Mommy hovering over him. He's groggy. Here he is sleeping it off on our bed with one of his new toys he got for being so brave. He tried to play with it briefly, but decided snuggling was a better idea for now.

Male Model

I tried to keep it even with the postings between Sheldon and Penny. The truth is, though, I get more shots of Sheldon. Penny goes out in the back yard to play and potty whereas Sheldon has to be leashed because he can get under the fence. He's a small fellow. So I spend a lot of time with Sheldon outside. Also, Penny is an older girl and spends less time awake and playing than Sheldon. Also, I try my best to get all the photos of Sheldon while he's in his puppy-hood just like I did when Penny was this size. So, I hope the readers of this blog don't think I'm picking favorites when Sheldon shows up more frequently than PenPen.  It may be that way for a while until he gets to be a little lazier and gets to be full grown. Make sense?

Okay, so in the earlier post I told you that Sheldon was going in tomorrow to get neutered. Which means, Mommy can't think of anything else. So, since the little man is on my mind I'm looking at photos while he's snoozing on the couch. What does that mean? New photo post!

Taken outside last week as we watched the very last launch of the Discovery Shuttle.

This one was taken week before last. It didn't turn out as nice as I was hoping, but I just really liked the photo, so I played with it in Photoshop to make it a little better. The legs belong to Joel, by the way.

Baby Teeth & Family Jewels

Sheldon lost 2 baby teeth yesterday. This is the largest of the 2.

I think this was his first tooth lost as he looked really confused and wouldn't stop licking the area. It was adorable. He looked up at me like 'WTH". It popped right out in my lap. The smaller one popped out onto the floor during play time with Kolby. His mouth must be sore now because he's eating very little ever since he lost them. Before he was eating fine.

Tomorrow, Thursday, is his neuter surgery. Wish us luck. Mommy's very nervous about the whole thing. There will be crying involved when I have to leave him there.

Here is the wee man enjoying his jewels....just like most all men sleep I think. lol

Penny Penny 2 by 4...

...can't fit through the doggy door. Poor PenPen has a weight issue. We restricted her calories and only give her one doggy treat a day now. She's lost weight, but she still could lose a bit more. We feed the recommended amount...less even. She gets plenty of exercise, too. Her vet says some dogs just can't eat as much. He also said that she SHOULD have a waist line.

Photogenic Pups

I brought out the ole Nikon D70 today to do an exercise out of Understanding Exposure for my photography group. It's the first exercise in the book. I asked Joel to stand with Sheldon and also took some of just Sheldon. All were taken with my 50mm lens @ f/5.6 in a shady area of the yard.

And here are just some shots I also took of the pups with the D70, but these are taken using Auto. I was shooting from odd angles, so I just held the camera up in the air or out in front of them and let the camera do the work.

Sheldon's Trip To Lowes

Every time we take Sheldon for a ride in the car he shakes and whimpers the whole time. Then he totally flips out if one of us gets out of the vehicle to run an errand. We try to take him places often so he'll get used to it. His big sis, PenPen, loves rides. He'll eventually come to love them, too...I hope.

Here's the wee man waiting on Dad to come back out of Lowes on Friday. He looked worried and he whimpered the entire time.
